This is the eighth title in the Unreal series of games.

UT2004 will work on Lion/Mountain Lion. What it won't do is install. Epic should fix this. HOWEVER, there is a trick that does work here. If you can install UT2004 AND apply the 3369-2 patch on a Snow Leopard or earlier OS X, simply copy the Unreal Tournament 2004.app file (6.12GB) to an external drive and then copy into the Applications folder on 10.7 or 10.8. Make SURE you keep a couple of copies of that app file in safekeeping somewhere.

I'm running it on Mountain Lion 10.8 Retina Macbook Pro and it's BEAUTIFUL on it.

Game is PowerPC, support is dropped in 10.7 so it is safe to assume it isn't going to work in 10.8 either.

Unreal Tournament (UT99) and UT2004 (w/ 3369.2 patch) work flawlessly on all Mac OS X releases up to 10.6.

Whether or not changes in Lion break what works in 10.6 is another question.

Tested under 10.8. No difference compared to performance under 10.7.

Have been playing War for 9 months under Mac OS X 10.7 with no significant performance issues on a Mac Pro (2010 Nehalem).

Under Version 1.4.1 of War there was a report of a crash between the races select screen and the selected race's class screen.

Seems to work fine in Mountain Lion after a disturbingly long initial launch time.
