There is an update from the author to fix the program losing its registration and not accepting valid key codes:

Unforunately, this patch will not run properly in 10.8 and instead give an error of "The operation couldn't be completed. (OSStatus error -67049.)"

You definitely need to apply the speed fixes noted on the website (http://home.earthlink.net/~robert.leatherwood/) for vh131ffmpeg.
