Whilst this application is compatible with OS X 10.8, it appears to have compatibility issues with MOTU (and other brands of AI, according to posts on Apple Support) Audio Interfaces. This is under 10.8.x and I can't say if that problem also plays out on lesser revisions of OS X.

This program incompatibility is the only thing preventing me from taking the plunge and upgrading to Lion… Any alternative programs?

The same for me, really a shame. But I'll upgrade and hope they make a Lion-compatible release soon.

Its the best program out there.

Joesoft have just confirmed they're working on a Lion-compatible version of Hear.

I uninstalled Hear and upgraded to Lion the minute it was released. The sound's not as good … but Lion is better. Why not just wait for Hear to be upgraded and get on with Lion?

Here's a website that tells you how to get Hear to work in Lion.
I just did it…works perfectly. Finally Hear is working again! No need for them to do an update….just fix it yourself.

Perfection, Don! Thanks a lot for the link! JoeSoft can relax since it's so easy to fix the issue without their help.

An important note: Hear now launches in Lion but with iTunes playing, turning Hear off & on produces no audible effect. Lion auto-placed the Hear plugin in the Incompatible Software folder and this might be why.

Restart your mac more than once. Then it can work. But it's also prone to crashing iTunes when switching presets. The official update might help solve this.
