The application loads and appears visually to work but the music doesn't actually play!

The Last.fm beta client works apparently perfectly for 10.8: http://www.last.fm/group/Audioscrobbler+Beta

The beta client from Last.fm seems to work perfectly. Download the client here:

The current client does not work with iTunes 10.4, whether on Lion or Snow Leopard. A clean re-install doesn't help either. Apple's upgrade note mentions that some plug-ins may not function, and last.fm appears to be one of them.

I've found that on the latest iTunes it still scrobbles but will crash quite regularly and scrobbling from the iPod has been patchy.

Same here, scrobbling from the Ipod doesn't pick up any more. Crashes from time to time.

Same here, iPod scrobble is no longer working. Just iTunes scrobbeling still is. But LastFm app does not launch automatically when iTunes is launched.

Is there any alternative for iPod scrobbling?
