TrashMe will help you in uninstalling your applications by deleting all related files (preferences, temp files, etc.). Even if TrashMe is not running.
Other great tools included:
- Manage a list of favorite apps and store registration info
- Clean Mac OS X caches to solve some issues and free up hard disk space
- Modify some useful hidden settings of Mac OS X
- Remove junk files from your hard drive (thumbs.db, desktop.ini, svn…)

Wish I'd known about this earlier. Uninstalling Parallels (VM) trial left a ton of unwanted files on my hard drive.
Shortcuts to non-existent Windows applications like Paint and Notepad still exist and show up in the results whenever I perform a Spotlight search for an application.
