Traditionally, chat clients on the Mac have been anything but glamorous. Colloquy is an advanced IRC, SILC & ICB client which aims to fill this void. By adhering to Mac OS X interface conventions, Colloquy has the look and feel of a quality Mac application.

This review is wrong, on my Mac OS 10.7 beta, Colloquy crash twice a day minimum.

I love 10.7 and one of the things that is the most disappointing is that my Colloquy does crash frequently with consistency. I have been using Lion for a few weeks and I use Colloquy daily.

This is my set up:

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,2
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 8 GB
Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP52.008E.B05

Yeap, agreed. Colloquy has a bunch of problems on Lion. Is it just me, or does the type-bar also freeze up occasionally, and not let you delete characters without frantically taping the backspace key?

Colloquy seems to be much better if compiled from source. Wish it would get an update soon! :(

@djckelk
It is sure opening and connecting well, but I can't say if it's crashing after a long time of use.

I find it stable as usual on Lion but the timestamps are always GMT now. Bugs are filed to the developers.

Lion: Colloquy crashes when Mac wakes from sleep.

My Colloquy hasn’t been crashing so frequently like it’s been said, but it shows, in timestamp, the wrong hour… anyway, for me it’s just a little bug. Colloquy is one of a few apps who still works nice in Lion.

Do they even update this anymore?

Website says the last build was 2009. Shame, as it's still the best looking IRC client.
