Applications like The New York Times' Times Reader work perfectly. Boston GlobeReader aslo works perfectly.

However, scrolling sideways in Action Method Online and TweetDeck results in crashes for some users. (Fixed in latest build)

Adobe Air is now at version 3.3. Anyone have this working on Mountain Lion?

J, you are my hero. Adobe AIR's recent update - which always pops up when one is smack in the middle of doing something else - wiped out my entire password program's encrypted data file and I lost a year's worth of entries. Of course, shame on me for not doing a backup - in fairness I thought the online hosted version was my backup - but between Passpack not alerting customers proactively and then providing vague solutions I lost hours trying to find out WHAT exactly to restore from my time machine backup.

I tried your suggestion of Macintosh HD/Library/Frameworks/Adobe Air.framework and voila, everything was back.

Do you think I could get anyone at Adobe or Passpack to tell me where the encrypted data was stored on the desktop machine version? Yay to J, is what I say!

Lion (10.7) Comments

A number of OS X Lion users report that Tweetdeck, which is built on Adobe Air, causes many error console reports that start with "WebProcess(N) deny file-read-data"

Users on Apple's support discussion boards have yet to find a viable fix for this issue.

Got it to work by restoring my older version of Adobe Air (2.7.x) from Time Machine (roughly 1 1/2 - 2 weeks back). I believe you will find that version I restored here as an installer: http://www.oldapps.com/adobe_air.php?old_adobe_air=13

Before installing the older 2.7 version of Air be sure to remove the existing Air Framework. Which resides at Macintosh HD/Library/Frameworks/Adobe Air.framework

I deleted the whole folder and replaced it with the version I had restored to my desktop. The installer should take care of this for those of you that are unable to find a restorable version in Time Machine.

Once this was all done all I had to do was launch TweetDeck and watch it return to an actual working app!

Hope this helps others that are battling the same headache. =)

One other work-around is to simply have Firefox or Chrome (NOT Safari) open in the background. Then Air works. Not sure why. I found this on Adobe's site.

The main difference in programming architecture between Firefox/Chrome and Safari is that the former two always use the OpenGL-framework of the System, whereas Safari only uses it if a) the website requires it or b) a running plugin (like Adobe Flash Player) requires it. The plugin, however, needs to be "active" not merely "installed" for Safari to use the OpenGL-library, in most cases.
I have no idea if that has anything to do with what is described above, however, I hope it helps.

Adobe Air v3.1 Installed without issues on Lion 10.7.2 (this was a "new" iMac and not an "upgrade" version from Snow Leopard 10.6.x) - We'll see how well it works once I install (or attempt to install) SimpleViewer Pro v2.20 (svBuilder Pro)

I finally got Adobe Air V3.1 installed on Lion 10.7.2 by having Firefox running in the background. When using Safari you will not get a pop-up to guide you through the installation of Adobe Air. Thanks Chris!

Thanks Erik, that was the trick.
