The red and white checkerboard issue shows up in Civ5 for Snow Leopard, too (10.6.8), so I do not think it is a Lion issue. Only seems to show towards end of game when there are a lot of pieces on the board. Sounds like a Civ issue. I heard this appears in Windows versions as well.

Lion GM; Civ 5 from Steam works perfectly — didn't notice a bug for hours.

On my 27" iMac with ATi Radeon HD 4850 (512 MB) I've been seeing graphics issues with the Steam delivered Civ V on Lion. After playing for a while a lot of texturing is showing as red/white checkered squares and there is some ghosting of images. This wasn't happening wit 10.6.8.

Anyone else having issues ?

Right after installing Lion, it crashes right after the movie intro.

I saw the same red/white checkered squares and a view hundred years later (now at 1800) Civilization 5 just keeps on freezing. I can't get past 1800. When it freezes the music keeps on playing, mouse keeps working but I can't click on anything anymore and even CMD-Tab doesn't bring me to back to my desktop or any other apps…. The only thing I can do is do a hard reset (pressing the power button for several seconds).

I am using a new MacBook Pro with i7 processor.
