When installing on Mountain Lion, you must have your System Preferences “Security & Privacy” settings configured to allow application downloaded from: “Mac App Store and identified developers” or “Anywhere.” Otherwise Gatekeeper blocks the app from being installed. You can manually override Gatekeeper by Control-clicking the app and choosing to open it.
