The compatibility can be fixed by adding the new mail/framework UUID's to the growl bundle as has been the case with every mail update since SL release. But even after getting the plugin to load, there are no notifications …

Not working for me either.
Growl Mail gets disabled on startup of Mail.App 5.0.
