In mountain lion not works for connecting remote server uses password.
If your server uses public key for authentication, you can not connect via password, but public key works very well.

FUSE for OS X allows you to extend Mac OS X's native file handling capabilities via third-party file systems. OSXFUSE is a successor to MacFUSE, which is no longer being maintained.
As a user, installing the OSXFUSE software package will let you use any third-party file system written atop OSXFUSE or MacFUSE, if you choose to install the MacFUSE compatibility layer. As a developer you can use the OSXFUSE SDK to write numerous types of file systems as regular user space programs. The content of these file systems can come from anywhere: from the local disk, from across the network, from memory, or any other combination of sources.
This package will install the runtime and development components of OSXFUSE. Please note that no OSXFUSE-based file systems are included in this package.

Hi,
I was tried to use SSHFS with it and it hangs. I had to press Ctlr+C to stop it. Are there any alternatives besides OSXFUSE?

Hi Joe,
which version of SSHFS did you try? If it is a MacFUSE version of SSHFS did you install the MacFUSE compatibility layer?

I just installed osxfuse and selected the compatibility mode. Rebooted. Now sshfs from macports says
[caa@kree ~]% web
SSHFS version 2.3
the MacFUSE file system is not available (-1)
the MacFUSE file system is not available (1)
Anybody got any ideas?
