OSX Lion 10.8, Little snitch stopped working, photoshop won't print, keeps crashing. Didn't think I would need a time machine backup, thought Apple were better than this! Seems like they are getting more like windoze with more money, and more money for upgrades….considering going back to a windoze laptop

Mr. T, anyone running a beta operating system without a backup did not read the directions. Apple said to backup your data, and since you didn't you weren't following directions.

To run CS5 on Mountain Lion (ML) without any trouble: Do a clean install of Snow Leopard (or Lion), install CS5, then upgrade to ML !

Lion (10.7) Comments

Starts, but has some issues:

1) Web export does not work (workaround: start the web preview and drag & drop the generated PNGs onto your desktop; optionally convert them to JPEGs in another application)

2) Saving your documents doesn’t work in all cases (workaround: create a new document and move all layers to the new document; this doesn’t help in all cases, so the best way to work around this problem is to save as often as possible and restart Photoshop if necessary)

Can't get the CS5.5 installer to work. It's been stuck at "Preparing to Install…" for 20 minutes.

Same problem here. You can work and export for the web, but you can’t save your work.

Did you guys install from scratch or used an already installed version?

Mac OS X 10.7 (11A480b)
Tested on MacBook 2,2

Photoshop CS5 works perfectly, no issues what so ever. I erased my drive before installing Lion, so my copy is a fresh install. If you're having issues, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling CS5.

Although 12.1 is the "newest" version, it is almost exactly like 12.0.4 according to Adobe.

CRASH. 20 seconds later… CRASH. Photoshop keeps crashing every 20 seconds, and there is nothing I can do to stop it.

[ Raz]RazAnonymous 25 Jul 2011 08:45

Crashes every time I try to open an older PSD (presumably created with CS4). Newer PSD's are fine.

For example crashes when trying to open this PSD: http://www.premiumpixels.com/freebies/tag/flip-clock/

Same for you?

I'm having issues with Lion.
First click never registers in photoshop but the 2nd click does. Quite annoying. Any fixes?

[ Raz]RazAnonymous 26 Jul 2011 11:23

Actually all my crashing problems were due to the Linotype Fontexplorer X 3 plugin.

Crashes periodically, causes computer to restart. Able to save just fine, though auto-save doesn't seem to apply. Now if only I could *remember* to save!

Hi,

I have installed Mac OS X Lion on my iMac. And I have tried to use Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection on my iMac.

THe installation is okay, but after installing the Master Collection, "The Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 failed to run". An error message saying that "The following software does not support 'PowerPC'".

But I ran the Spring Cleaning 11 for "rebuild Lanch Service Devices", and after that, my Photoshop 5.1 works!!!

My Spring Cleaning 11 Deluxe is for SL so it won't work on LIon. I will need some other way to let me PS know that it's already on a "intel" based iMac.

Thanks.

John

Seems to work perfectly here. Both installer (I installed the CS5.5 Master Collection) and application.

For me, Adobe PS 5 mostly works, but is experiencing very noticeable brush lag of 1-2 seconds with each stroke. It is extremely disruptive to my workflow.

What is odd is that this was not so bad before. It seems to be a progressively increasing issue.

For MacBook Pro users with discrete graphics card, did you check whether you are using integrated or discrete? I forced mine into the Radeon 6750M card with gfxcardstatus, and I don't have any problems (so far).

I just installed Photoshop CS 5.5 Extended on my iMac running Lion. Now I can't seem to get my layers to work. I opened a picture and wanted to add a texture layer. But when I open the texture image my picture goes away. Then if I click on the picture to open it the texture image goes away. So I can't have them both open at once nor am i able to pull the texture image on top of the picture like I had been able to do in CS3.

What's going on and how to do I fix it?.
