Wiiji is the perfect joystick solution for Wii remotes on Mac.

With Wiiji, your Wii remotes will appear as ordinary joysticks to any application that supports joystick input. It does this through a kernel extention.

If your favorite game doesn't support joysticks, Wiiji can emulate keyboard input, too.

It runs conveniently in your menu bar.

It installs, but closes a few seconds after launch.

Works after installing the virtualhid.pkg(/Volumes/Wiiji/Wiiji.mpkg/Contents/virtualhid.pkg) separately after the main installation. Still closes some times after launch

A alternative is osculator.

This works perfectly for me in 10.6.8. I haven't tested it in 10.7 or 10.8. The app itself has been at v1.2 since 2008, so it may need a maintenance update.

This app seems to work, and apparently pairs with the Wiimote, on my Mac Mini (mid-2011) running Lion as of August 9th, 2011. However, a message is given saying that the Virtual HID driver can not be opened, making the program apparently useless at this time.
