There are several threads on the support site about Display Link causing Kernel Panics. In my case it was when I put my computer to sleep. For others it is when waking from sleep.

Adding verification to Zahariah's comment. Users are experiencing several issues from their computers restarting after sleep, screen flickering, kernel panics, etc. I've personally experienced the screen flicking problems which makes them unusable when it occurs.
