Scrolling doesn't seem to work on Expert Mouse in 10.8
Some problems in 10.8
Works fine in 10.7
I'm putting the finishing touches on the all-new RoaringApps, with support for Mavericks & iOS 7.
Try it out now and help me squash some bugs.

I only can use 3 different functions out of the 4 Expert Mouse buttons since moving to 10.8. Tried reinstalling Trackballworks. No luck.

I talked to Kensington Tech Support today. They said they knew their was a problem with their products when using Mac OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion. They are working on a software update to fix these problems.

I am disappointed in my wireless mobile trackball. When you first touch it, the page on the screen jumps up about a half of an inch. Also the wrist support is too high. The ball should be higher than the support. That way you do not have to curl your hand over like a claw to use it.

I'm glad to find some information regarding this problem as well. I have an old Kensington Trackball Expert Mouse and I love it to death. I just bought a new Mac mini with OS 10.8 and like someone mentioned previously, I have to open up System Preferences and then open up the 'Trackball Works' driver I installed the other day. Unless I do this, it's like the software isn't being loaded up as a 'Login Item'. Oddly, the only Trackball application I can find happens to be the 'Uninstaller' app, so I'm assuming that is NOT what I want to add to the Login Items. Hopefully there will be some kind of fix for this. Kensington just needs to find a way to have it added to the Login Items menu. I tried sending a Kensington a message today, but their site seems to be having problems.
In the meantime, from now on I'll have to keep opening up the Trackball works from within System Preferences and that seems to solve the problem until the next time I turn on the computer.

There is still no updates for 'Trackball Works'.
I'm using Expert Mouse and update OSX to 10.8.
I find 'TrackballWorksHelper.app' and add it to 'Login Item'.
I created a symbolic link for 'TrackballWorksHelper.app'.
$ sudo ln -s /Library/PreferencePanes/TrackballWorks.prefPane/Contents/Resources/TrackballWorksHelper.app /Applications/TrackballWorksHelper.app
It works fine.

Dragged and dropped the file straight from the PreferencePanes folder into the Startup Items list under my account settings in System Prefs. Thanks superdaigo!

I have the poorly named Expert Mouse (actually an optical trackball) working with Trackball Works v1.10 in OS 10.8. It gave me some fits, but here's how I solved it:
Upon initial use of my new Mac Mini, trackball works installed and worked fine. Then I ran MIGRATION ASSISTANT and that caused problems. Namely, there appeared to be either duplicate, spurious or wonky preferences copied from the old Powerbook into the Library of the Mac Mini. So…
A) Run KENSINGTON UNINSTALLER (applications>Utilities>TrackballWorks Uninstaller
B) Delete PList manually (Library>Preferences>[anything with Kensington or Mouseworks in title])
C) Delete PreferencePane (Library>PreferencePane>Trackballworks)
Restart.
Run Trackball Works installer again. Restart. Works fine now, but I've lost support for Application Specific commands - there's just one set of button commands for all applications where I used to be able to customize by application. Hopefully someone will create a good third party application that does for my Expert Mouse what Quicksilver has done for my keyboard, namely, turn it up to 11!

@superdaigo, @Sven, I dragged TrackballWorksHelper.app from /Library/PreferencePanes/TrackballWorks.prefPane/Contents/Resources/ and was hopful this would work, but this does not change my reproducible issue: After every restart, new SlimBlade Trackball is not recognized by TrackBallWorks 1.1 until unplugging and re-plugging in usb. I opened an issue with Kensington and they acknowledged the bug and said there is no fix yet, but will be in the future.

In my opinion Kensington is taking to long to get these software drivers updated to work with Mac 10.8 Mountain Lion! They need to get on the ball and get to work!!!!!
