That's not true.
Guitar Rig 2 come in a CD wich the installer is PPC only, Lion do not support such apps.

My testing so far is limited, but for anybody who hasn't needed to upgrade from this old version of Guitar Rig 2, it seems to work fine with 10.7 Lion. Stand-alone program loads. AU loads and seems to work fine in GarageBand.
