Works fine, but sometimes don't start anymore.
To fix this you have to delete the entire "Flash Player" folder in the ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia folder.

This Folder will be recreated, every time you restart your Computer, so you have to delete it again.

Since now there is a version option, should this be renamed to Adobe Fireworks and old versions (CS3,4) be added to the software versions (9,10)

I think CS3, 4, etc. would be different applications – although they are under the Adobe Fireworks family – because 9, 10, etc. would be the actual version numbers. Plus Adobe Fireworks CS5 is the latest Adobe Fireworks product with 11.0.0 being the latest version. If those older applications still work running under Lion though I am not sure how that would work.

I have some trouble with it, since i installed a new lion update, fireworks stopped working. it crash when starting, you can see the toolbar background but it hangs there. when i look at the console i get this erro:

17.10.11 16:39:03,279 Adobe Fireworks CS5: CFURLCreateWithString was passed this invalid URL string: '/System/Library/Frameworks/' (a file system path instead of an URL string). The URL created will not work with most file URL functions. CFURLCreateWithFileSystemPath or CFURLCreateWithFileSystemPathRelativeToBase should be used instead.

any ideas?

ok, found a solution in a forum, if anyone needs this:

QUOTE from http://forums.adobe.com/thread/897601:

"My" problem turned, that I seemlessly had a corrupt file in my ~/Library/Preferences/
But i couldnt figure out which one it was.

I ran a Terminal plutil -s *.plist and no errors showed up.

The solution turned out to be:
Deleted the entire macromedia folder in the ~/Library/Preferences/ folder and now its working.

macromedia is the name of the old FW creators before Adobe took over.

So i am guessing there is some kind of error, but who can tell. I cant, adobe cant and apple cant.

Well hope this helps somebody!

See: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3929927#3929927

This appears to be a fuller explanation of a possible problem with Fireworks CS5.1 not starting (also problems with Flashbuilder, Extension Manager, possibly with Updater).

The quick upshot is that flashfirebug just destroys a whole bunch of Adobe software, and you need to uninstall it from firefox and get rid of the config file associated with it.
