I'm putting the finishing touches on the all-new RoaringApps, with support for Mavericks & iOS 7.
Try it out now and help me squash some bugs.

f.lux makes your computer screen look like the room you're in, all the time. When the sun sets, it makes your computer look like your indoor lights. In the morning, it makes things look like sunlight again.

v17.0 appears to work fine on ML.

v16.0 appears to be buggy. At night, it would not run the transition until the preferences window was opened at which point it jumped quickly. In the morning, it didn't transition at all, even when opening the preferences window in the foreground. When attempting to preview it, it stacked two yellow layers together rather than working on the layer already loaded. Quitting it did remove the layers but it is still buggy with transitions.

I second that "request" from patrick welker with the menubar icon to optionally be hidden by the user as he/she set it up in the prefs. not while deleting it.
anyways, great neat tool! thanks.

I agree with Patrick and 'a fine guest' - I'd love for the app to run in the background and for the ability to hide the icon on the menu bar. Great app though!

Write preferences manually with either defaults write or copy another Mac's plist. Prefs window and Menu Extra will then respond, although there are still occasions (adjusting location, for instance) where they freeze once again.

Just to be a little more clear, run Flux once, kill it with Activity Monitor, open up Terminal.app, and run:
defaults write org.herf.Flux SUEnableAutomaticChecks 1
defaults write org.herf.Flux locationTextField 53477 (your zip code, or if you don't have one, just set it for now)
defaults write org.herf.Flux indoorLightingType Fluorescent (just do it for now)
defaults write org.herf.Flux location 53477 (same zipcode as above)
defaults write org.herf.Flux locationType Z
If you do not use a zipcode for location (e.g. out of the U.S.), type in a random zipcode into the above. Once everything is set up through the Terminal, when you run Flux, it won't show the preferences window. Click on the menubar and open the preferences window and everything should work fine.

Mac F.lux v15 beta available: https://secure.herf.org/flux/Flux15.zip

Thanks for putting out the beta. An option to hide the menubar icon and run f.lux only in the background would be all I can wish for.
All the best,
Patrick
