MathType runs in 10.8 (Mountain Lion), but not very well. Choosing from pull-down-menus is not possible. Typing is ok. Clicking on buttons is ok.
Some problems in 10.8
Works fine in 10.7
I'm putting the finishing touches on the all-new RoaringApps, with support for Mavericks & iOS 7.
Try it out now and help me squash some bugs.

MathType works fine in Mountain Lion (10.8.2 in any case). One thing I have found that if you're going through Pages, you can no longer "save" the equation directly into your document. You need to drag and drop the image of the equation instead.
Other than that, I see no problems.

I have same problem as in the post "realpaper on 5 September 2012, 23:54" when I try to edit equation embedded in .docx document. But I found that I can edit the equation by copying it to a newly opened equation window though It is tedious.

The website says the latest version is Universal Binary. I wonder why it would need Rosetta?

Under Snow Leopard it runs as Universal Binary, but when installing it asks for Rosetta. You can't go through the installer without installing Rosetta. I don't know why. Maybe the installer still requires Rosetta…

the version 6.0 runs under lion, because it is universal binary (like the 6.7). However it is not possible to install it by means of installer (which is a powerPc application!). The only possible solution is to copy manually the files installed on a old system to the new one:the folder application, the fonts, and CFM support (in library).
It easier than it seem.

@Ilio
http://www.dessci.com/en/products/MathType_Mac/trial.asp states that "System Requirements for Macintosh: Mac OS X 10.4.9 Tiger or newer, including 10.7 Lion"
I just downloaded and installed a copy on my clean installed lion mac.
