When I try to configure PDF Shrink it crashes. I am using 4.5.3 (Build 5772) under Lion.
I cannot get the PDF services to do anything. This may be because if one uses that wizard thing to try and configure something it crashes.
True, I can explicitly shrink a PDF file if I use one of the default methods, but not if they are saved as a PDF service.
Based on this I'd say there are some problems with Lion.

We see something similar with our PDF Shrink 4.5.3 Build 5772.
The PDF services that used to work under 10.6 no longer work under 10.7. I.e., you cannot print to a PDF service saved by PDF Shrink and obtain an output file.
We also see the configuration wizard crashes when you close it or if it is exiting because you are finishing a configuration change. Because likes to restart apps by default, PDF Shrink is restored to the point in the configuration wizard before the crash. One has to work around the Lion restore by launching PDF Shrink while holding down the shift key. And one wonders if the configuration wizard was able to complete the configuration before it crashes after pressing the Finish button the 2nd time.
If you use PDF Shrink directly on a file, it works. However configuration and PDF Services have problems under Lion.

I had an EMail exchange with the developer. Unfortunately the only thing they responded with was an insistence that PDF Skrink worked. When I sent them multiple crash dumps, they did not respond.
When I declined to change the state of the application for this entry, the developer signed in and changed it to "works fine". Later someone changed it back to "some problems".
I sent another EMail with more crash dump data to the developer, along with some information on another matter. They responded, but not to crash dump reports.
I am puzzled by the developer's lack of comments on their application crashing during configuration and their lack of comments on the PDF service not working under Lion.
Perhaps you should EMail the developer? Maybe if more people ask, they might update/fix their application. According to their "Contact us" web page, try:

I too am experiencing crashes in the app when used in Lion (OS X 10.7). My temporary work around until they get it working correctly with Lion is to go through the wizard of advanced setup. Click "save" and yes it will crash. Simply reopen, and when it pops up the wizard will be open again. Leave the wizard open (do not close it) but choose the que window of PDFshrink in the background. Select the "default" radial button next to the settings you want to use. The last one you entered should be listed now. Then quit the app. Drop your videos on the dock icon for PDFshrink and it will infact compress the PDF using your new settings as they are default. It has worked for me but it will be great once this app is fixed as I use it multiple times a day and recommend it to everyone.

Thanks Scott for that work-a-round.
Another thing that appears to be broken is the PDF Services (see section 4.5 of the User Guide). When I "Save PDF Service", I do get a PDF Service however it does nothing when I print to that PDF Service.
Do you have any success with PDF Services?
