I've never been able to use this EOS Utility with my 5D Mark III in LION. It crashes when the camera is plugged in, especially when I have many pictures on the card (I shoot in highest quality RAW). Zoom Browser does a better job, but sticking the SD card into my iMac slot and copying the pics, is the best way to move pictures to my hard drive.

To use wireless file transfer with one of the canon WFT units the mac's FTP server has to be enabled and configured. Lion has removed FTP from the settings but you can turn it on in terminal. Instructions - http://www.landofdaniel.com/blog/2011/07/22/starting-ftp-server-in-os-x-lion/

2.8.1 works fine.

Make sure to remove the folder 'EOS Utility' in the 'Canon Utilities' folder first, before installing the 2.8.1 version.
