i've just solved it. 'right' click on the icon in the system preferences for MediaLink. click remove from display. re-download the program RELEVANT to the system you are running! then it'll install and you'll be able to use it again.

HOWEVER

you will NOT be able to update the software past your system itself. eg) 10.5.8 will only run 10.5….

medialink is now working with Lion in v2.32

Medialink + Lion causes several haywire mencoder processes (each at around 130 % CPU) that quickly forces fans to attain max speed.

This happens when "Forced transcoding" option is enabled (which in turn is a must for using external subs). This did not happen in Snow Leopard versions.

I cannot use the FFW and "minute intervall" functions when streaming movies from my iMac to my PS3 after I upgraded from Leopard to Lion. Anybody else experienced the same problems?

Despite new 2.40 version I can't "go to" a specific position in a streamed movie without this taking 30 seconds loading time. This never happened in SL - there "go to" in the PS3 took no more than a couple of seconds. Each time I try to go to a specific position the mencoder process seems to go up to about 200 % - freezing the picture on my TV until the process "calms down", somewhat 20-30 seconds later.

Is this what your are experiencing, Chris?

Also, I have sent about 5 e-mails to Nullriver without receiving ANY answers at all. Really worthless customer service. Stay away from Nullriver products if you value respect for paying customers!

Yes, I experience the same kind of problem, but the "go to" function doesn´t seem to work at all. So if I stop a movie during playback, I need to watch it realtime to get back to the same position… pretty annoying. Lets hope Nullriver solves that issue.

I would also appreciate if they could enable my Samsung LED TV as a supported device which in case I will be able to stream data directly to the TV. Eyeconnect works with the Samsung, but they do not support subtitles.

I can't even get it launch anymore. All I get is a message in system preferences saying "Could not load MediaLink preference pane."

Has anyone figured out why the new update with MediaLink is not creating this preference pane error message? I'm also getting the "could not load medialink preference pane"….

Could not load medialink preference pane error on this also. I emailed nullriver tech support back in December 2011 and still no feedback!
