Tried Wiretap Studio on Mountain Lion. It loads, but when one tries to open a file or record a sream, a dark hue comes upon the screen and asks for computer restart. In short, Wiretap Studio crashes Mac OSX 10.8.

WireTap Studio 1.2.0 ne fonctionne pas sous système 10.8, la dernière version de l'OS d'Apple. Le système se relance immédiatement, suite à un crash…

When are you going to engage with Apple to fix the 10.8 crash dilemma. I paid good money for this application and it doesn't work! Can I get my cash back?

Yes, I've just had a frustrating hour trying to figure out what's going on. Very sad, because Wiretap has been such a great application. Let's hope they get their act together fairly soon.

Doesn't record Skype audio directly (by selecting Skype as one of the inputs). However, selecting the "Mac Audio" input does include Skype audio. Just be sure to mute all other sounds on your system if you are trying to record a podcast.

Ambrosia—This is keeping me from upgrading one of my systems to Lion. Please get it fixed so I can take the plunge! <smile>

Is there anything similar to Wiretap Studio that might work on Lion?

Audio hijack pro works under OS X.7 Lion.
At least records Deezer music via Safari.

Can you please give us some indication as to when a Lion compatible version which captures sound from within individual applications is likely to be ready?

Very pleased to report (much to my surprise) that it works! I have captured sound from youtube, from iTunes, from Peak Pro, from Garageband! Using v. 1.1.1 :)

I have read the posts and the FAQs regarding compatibility of Wiretap Studio and Lion OS X. I would like to say that I am very disappointed by the lack of attention from the Ambrosia Team on this subject. I have paid good money for an application that no longer works as advertised at the time of purchase. We understand the technicalities, but it would be helpful if they communicated their intentions.

As it stands we are 2 months down the line since the last update and to be honest this is just not good enough. You have the blogs, the support forum and the journalists as well as numerous tech websites all asking you when you are going to update this software.

Please can we have a honest and open response about the roadmap of this product in the next 7 days. I think you owe it to your customers, dont you?

If we dont see some update outlining your intention for this product in that timescale then I feel it is well within our right as consumers of your software to request our money back.

I look forward to a non-automated, human response with some honesty and integrity.

¡Hola D Knight!

I'm not getting any recording using Wiretap Studio 1.1.1. under Lion OS X. Nothing mate. I used to record sounds from interviews in YouTube, and at first I thing it was because my main browser is Safari, but then I test Chrome and Firefox…and nothing.

Yes, too bad.

Add me as a paying customer who's disappointed that Wire Tap Studio doesn't function with OSX 10.7. I understand that there are (possibly major) technical difficulties, but you're leaving your consumer base floundering in an information vacuum - if you're not going to be able to fix the problem, at least tell us so, so that we can find software that WILL do the job. It's the honest thing to do.

The reason given for Wiretap Studio's incompatibility with Lion is a little thin when Audio Hijack Pro can do exactly the same thing with no problems. Take a read of this here:

http://www.ambrosiasw.com/support/faqs/products/wiretap-studio/Is-WireTap-Studio-compatible-with-OS-X-Lion-107

I (thankfully) own both products and after failing miserably to isolate a specific app's audio output for recording in Wiretap, I did this easily with a few clicks in Audio Hijack Pro.

If the problem lies, as Ambrosia claim, with Apple's new App Store and not with Ambrosia's coding then why can Rogue Amoeba's products do what Ambrosia claim is currently impossible?
