I use EOS Utility on my MacBook running OS X 10.7 and so far I've not noticed any major issues. I had the software installed on my computer prior to upgrading to Lion

What version do you have installed? Whenever I try, it says it doesn't yet support this version of the operating system.

The solution is to downgrade to the 2.6.1 version.

Where did you find a copy of 2.6.1? Canon's site only has down to 2.9.0

Just found this on Canon's site: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/macosx_lion?page_left_nav=division_1

It looks like they're updating their apps one by one, and hopefully EOS Utility will be ready soon

I've found that 2.7.x also worked once. However, it also doesn't include the newest stuff for WiFi transmitters on newer cameras. 2.9.x and 2.10.1 also give the OS version error.

To use wireless file transfer with one of the canon WFT units the mac's FTP server has to be enabled and configured. Lion has removed FTP from the settings but you can turn it on in terminal. Instructions - http://www.landofdaniel.com/blog/2011/07/22/starting-ftp-server-in-os-x-lion/

How could you downgrade from 2.10.1 to 2.7?
I tried to install the version over but it seems to change nothing.

2.8.1 works fine here. (I don't use WFT though).

It can be downloaded from here:

@Mukei

How could you downgrade from 2.10.1 to 2.7?
I tried to install the version over but it seems to change nothing.

First remove the 'EOS Utility' folder from the 'Canon Utilities' folder, and then install 2.8.1 (or earlier).

I am running EOS utility 2.8.1 and have no issues found.
It was installed prior to upgrading to Lion
Don't understand the red flag box in the list …

Does anyone have a working link to download EOS utility 2.8.1 or earlier? I just bought a Canon 600d and I just updated to Lion and of course the utility doesn't work, however every link to download an earlier version I have found doesn't work.

Just bought a mac book pro and a canon 550d, installed all canon software on the mac, but eos utility won't work on the 10.7 operating system so therefore i cannot remove media from my camera to mac. Read that 2.8.1 works will this ensure my cam is found by my mac and that i can finally get my media from it? and also should i delete my current eos utility before installing 2.8.1. and does anyone have a link too download it none so far i've found have been available. Thanks dudes.
