FontExplorer occasionally decides to startup every 1 out of 10 tries, looks like everyone I've talked to is having different/inconsistent issues. Waiting on an update to address 10.8.

FontExplorer doesn't appear to be intercepting requests from Safari properly with the last two Lion betas. Fonts such as Droid Sans which are used frequently on websites, conflict with developer versions of Droid Sans if active in FontExplorer. The current solution to this issue is to disable the local version of the font in FontExplorer and refresh the webpage.

Though 2.5.2 launches and activates fonts for me in Lion, I received the following note from Linotype:

“At this time our application does not officially support OS X 10.7. We are currently working on finishing an update that will add this support among other changes.”

Adobe CS5.5 and FontExplorer X Pro on a Mac with OS X Lion - report:

Illustrator - plugin installed without any problems and font auto-activation works.
Photoshop - to install plugin, I had to manually change the plugins path. I don't know if font activation works but plugin is loading properly.
InDesign - when I installed plugin and manually changed the path to InDesign plugins folder - InDesign can't load the plugin, it says the plugin is not compatible with this version so - it doesn't work at all.

All of my Font Explorer X Pro sets are now empty. Only problem I've come across so far 24 hours after my Lion upgrade. Tread carefully.

FontExplorer X Pro 3, works perfectly with Lion and Adobe no issues at all yet. If I ever did get empty FEX font folders, a simple restart of the application fixes this (this happened in 10.6 too)

I'm missing all of my custom sets, tried updating from 2.5.2 to 3.1 but still missing the custom sets… Are the custom sets stored in the Application Support file? @Michael - did you ever solve your issue with empty sets?

As of Lion 10.7.2, downloaded last night, the plug-in for illustrator CS5 has quit working. I've removed it and reinstalled, quit and restarted - nothing helps. InDesign CS5 plugin is working great.

To anyone with issues remember to use the tools menu to clean your system fonts caches.
