Lion (10.7) Comments

There are some problems. Sometimes it works, and sometimes I get spinning beachballs and have to force quit. This is especially likely to occur when switching user names.

We should ask ourselves why we should still want to use this software. AOL has provided no acknowledgement that Lion even exists.

AOL Desktop is completely useless with Lion. It simply is not compatible. What are we AOL users supposed to do? My business account emails are all on AOL. Apple says it's AOL's responsibilty to fix the problem, but I see no attempt by AOL to issue a fix. This is disgraceful. I can't just switch all my business email addresses to another mail system. Yes indeed, AOL has NOT acknowledged that Lion is the new OS for Mac!

AOL desktop crashes if I try to switch from my sons user name to mine. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, nothing works.

I have had the same problems - when I open AOL Desktop I can (sometimes) log in on the screenname that first appears, but when I try to switch to another screenname, or if I try to open in another screenname, then AOL Desktop crashes. I have tried updating, but I get an error message with an exhortation to try again later.

Until the AOL Desktop is upgraded (that will be years if the past is any indication) use AOL.com in your browser.
All is not lost.
